 SCHOOL RULES & REGULATIONS         

Effective 02/08/08

 

1. Students and Instructors must be respectful. Disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.

2. Students must not disrupt classes in session.

3. All students must wear the school uniform consisting of the schools t-shirt, belt or sash

    and dark colored pants

4. Food and drinks are not allowed in the training area except during ceremonies and events.

5. No abusive language, disruptive behavior, or fighting.

6. Only clean shoes are allowed in training area.

7. If a student has any injury or medical condition, the student MUST notify the instructor of  their injury or      

medical condition and provide written permission from their physician before attending ANY class.

8. Students will keep the school clean, pick up their own trash, and put back any equipment they use.

9. Students will not remove any item, equipment or property from the school without permission from the       

Chief Instructor. Any equipment borrowed or removed from the school will be returned in a timely               

manner (one week).

10. Students will not use another students equipment without permission. If a student damages another           

student's

      equipment, he/she will pay for the replacement of the damaged equipment.

11. Students who damage any equipment or property of the school will notify an instructor immediately           

 and pay

      the cost to replace the property if deemed necessary by the instructor.

12. A coach or instructor must be present when a student exercises or practices in the school.

13. Students who attend a minimum of one class per month are still required to pay that months tuition.

      In other words, attendance of one class per month constitutes a monthly attendance.

14. Parents must provide a current emergency contact number for their child.

15. Children must have supervision before using any equipment.

16. Students must not behave in any manner that would endanger themselves or others.

17. Students must only use martial arts for self-defense.

18. Instructors and students are not allowed to date one another unless they are married or were dating           

before attending Dr. Lee’s Academy

19. NO SMOKING or DRINKING is permitted regardless of the place.

     (School, tournament, demonstration etc.)

20. Bow upon entering

21. Bow to the Instructor at a proper distance

22. Exchange greetings between students

23. Bow to Instructor upon forming a line prior to training

24. Bow to the Instructor upon forming a line prior to dismissal

25. Bow before leaving the School.

26. All students must complete and sign the relevant application forms prior to commencing training.


 

27. All jewelry must be removed before entering the training area.

28. Students will bow to their and any other Instructor upon greeting him and upon his departure.

29. Students will refer to the Instructor as Sifu, Sensei or Sihing

30. The school is to be kept clean at all times.

31. Full uniform must be worn for testing.

32. Excessive absences or tardiness will not be tolerated.

33. Unauthorized training is strictly forbidden.

34. Disrespect of other Martial Arts and/or students will not be tolerated.

35. Misuse of the Art will result in disciplinary action.

36. Full equipment must be worn for sparring classes: headgear, mouthpiece, gloves, chest protector,   

      shin guards,

      foot gear, and groin cup

37. Always set a good example to lower ranking students. It is only natural that they attempt to emulate           

their seniors.

38. Always be loyal and never criticize your Instructor or that of any other Martial Arts Discipline.

39. If an Instructor teaches a technique, practice it and attempt to utilize it.

40. Remember that a student's conduct outside the School reflects on the Art and on their Instructor.

41. If a student adopts a technique from another School and the Instructor disapproves of it, the student         

 must discard it immediately, or train in the School where it was learnt.

42. Never be disrespectful to the Instructor, although a student' s allowed to disagree with the Instructor,          

he must first follow the Instruction, then discuss the matter later.

43. Students must attend a minimum of 30 classes in between test dates.

44. Always arrive before training is due to start, and ensure that you have a good attendance record.

45. All students are required to attend a minimum of 1 Dr. Lee's Martial & Healing Arts Seminar each

      year.

46.The Instructor's office is a Private Office and will be used for business purposes only.

     Always knock before entering. No personal items are to be left in The Instructor's office. When an

     Instructor is not in the office, no one but another instructor should be in his office for any reason.

47. All training equipment should be left undamaged, report any accidental damage to your

     Instructor. All training equipment should be returned to its original location after use.

48. Dues must be paid up-to-date in order to test and or train. Testing fees are paid in advance.

49. While an Instructor is addressing class, students should stand with hands crossed behind their back.

50. Student membership or enrollment may be terminated without refund for violation of the above rules

at the discretion of the Chief Instructor.

 

These rules are intended as a general guideline. A student/Instructor should endeavor

to behave in accordance with good manners, common decency and common sense.
